Three female Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP) have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for the first time in the history of Sri Lanka.
SSPs Renuka Jayasundara, Nishanthi Senevirathna, and Padmini Weerasuriya have thus been promoted to the rank of DIG.
The Sri Lanka Police said the promotions come into immediate effect.
