Minister of Youth and Sports Namal Rajapaksa called upon the youth of Sri Lanka to volunteer to assist mobile vaccination service which began for elderly and disabled under the guidance of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
"... I call upon the youth of LKA to volunteer their services to assist in this effort " the minister tweeted.
Sri Lanka has purchased a large amount of vaccines of AstraZenica, Sinopharm, Pfizer and Sputnik V to vaccinate Sri Lankans and obtained vaccines from COVAX facility as well.
Sri Lanka is targeting to vaccinate all those who are above 30 years old in the Western Province before end of July.
